The story of stuff

Wow as that informative. She is right.

I myself bought an ipod to keep me entertained, i thought it would last me a while. The happiness of having it was taken away when a friend of mine informed me that the ipod i had purchased was created to only last 200 recharges. No wonder my brothers have started to discard their old ipods and continue to re-purchase new ones because theirs have started to fail. what??

What happened to the good old days when things were made to last a long time? Another example are vacuum cleaners. I have found that the older models still function properly for 10 even 20 years as long as you look after them, but now I have to be careful what brand I purchase as I have had a few in the past (mainly made in China) which seem to stop working properly within a year. This does not mean i have kick them around or anything. Some only come with a 12 month warranty. I guess that's what you get for the cheap price tag.

And cars? Fords seem to like rusting a lot faster which is common knowledge around here and i was told that their are made to cause problems at 250,000 km . Holdens? Well one friend went as far as to informe me that her dad hated them so much he had resorted to calling them "just holdin". Their gear boxes are known to cause a lot of trouble.

My father has always disliked purchasing products made in China in my early years, I didn't understand why because I thought they were cheap and did the same job. Only now do I realise why he had resisted purchasing products made in China. No offense to the Chinese people or their country.

As long as there is demand, there will be products out there trying to persuade customers to buy them. As long as there are products to be purchased, the government will keep getting revenue from the GST. The more this continues, the more destruction and illness we will suffer. But who cares when there's money to be made and more and more products to be consumed which we continue to believe will make us happy.

The only thing that will save us is if we make more informed decisions and support sustainable practices which do not negatively effect the environment, Eco systems, our health or abuse human and animal rights.

Completion of treatment:

1) ” Ok, how are you feeling”

2) ” I am now going to leave the room and go wash my hands”

3) ” You can slowly and carefully make your way down from the table and re-dress when you are ready” “ Please be careful when you are getting off the table as your muscles may still be in relaxation mode and may not respond as well as they usually do so do take care”

4) ” Once you are done, I will bring you another bottle of water to rehydrate you”

Post treatment
